Certificate in Italian Studies
The College of Arts and Sciences and the College of the Arts offers an undergraduate certificate in Italian Studies. The certificate program is designed with a broad interdisciplinary perspective. Majority of the courses will focus on the study of history and culture of the people who inhabit or originated from the Italian peninsula and the islands of Sardinia and Sicily from pre-historic times to the present.
Students are required to take 23-28 credit hours from a list of courses approved for the certificate. The program has a language requirement, as well as elective courses in anthropology, history, art history, government and international affairs, and theatre.
Students are strongly encouraged to study abroad in Italy for the summer, a semester or a year, as part of the USF in Italy program or in any other accredited program.
